How to Use the Business Card Creator & OCR Import

Import a printed card with OCR or start from samples, review extracted fields, design front and back layouts with optional QR codes, then export print-ready PDF or image files.

  1. On Import, upload, paste, or capture a business card photo (JPG, PNG, WEBP, or PDF).
  2. Crop the card, run OCR, and review extracted fields — fix low-confidence values highlighted in the review step.
  3. Open Design and choose front/back templates (Classic, Modern, Minimal, Bold); your data carries over when switching.
  4. Customize colors, fonts, logo placeholder, and enable a QR code (vCard, website, email, phone, WhatsApp, or custom).
  5. Preview front and back, then open Export to download PDF with bleed/crop marks or PNG/JPG/SVG per side.
  6. Save to your local card library to reopen and edit later.

Privacy

OCR, QR generation, and exports run locally. Card images and contact details are not uploaded to ToolsLibrary servers.

Limitations

OCR accuracy drops with glare, curved cards, and decorative fonts. Always verify phone numbers and emails before printing. PDF import renders the first page only.

FAQ

Does the OCR scan happen on a server?

No. Text recognition, QR decoding, and image enhancement all run locally in your browser. Your uploaded or scanned card image is never permanently stored on a server.

What file types can I import?

JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, and PDF. You can upload, drag & drop, paste from the clipboard, or capture with your camera.

What happens if a field is extracted incorrectly?

Every extracted field shows a confidence percentage. Low-confidence fields are highlighted so you can quickly edit, correct, or delete them before creating your card.

Can I switch designs after importing?

Yes. Once your details are extracted, you can instantly switch between any front or back template — your information carries over automatically.

What export formats are supported?

PDF (print-ready with bleed and crop marks), PNG, JPG, and SVG for both the front and back of your card.

Can I add a QR code to my business card?

Yes. In Design, enable QR Code and choose vCard, website, email, phone, WhatsApp, or custom content. The QR is generated locally and printed on the front and/or back of your card.

Are there sample cards I can try?

Yes. Open the Samples tab to preview Classic, Modern, Minimal, and Bold designs with demo contact data. Use sample loads it into Design so you can edit and export.

Can I design a card without scanning?

Yes. Skip Import and open Design to enter contact fields manually, or start from a sample template and replace the demo data.

Does the tool decode QR codes on printed cards?

Yes. During OCR processing the importer attempts to read printed QR codes and map vCard or URL payloads into contact fields when detected.

Where are saved cards stored?

Saved cards live in your browser’s local storage/IndexedDB. Clearing site data removes them — nothing syncs to ToolsLibrary servers by default.
