Gold & Silver Calculator

Free gold price calculator and silver calculator for everyday planning. See today's gold rate and silver rate with last-updated time and data source, convert by purity (24K/22K and more), and run jewellery making-charge, selling, and profit/loss modes. Spot prices are derived from international USD/oz quotes plus FX (or Admin overrides), with local cache — estimates for planning, not a broker or Sarafa shop quote.

How to Use the Gold & Silver Calculator

Pick a country and tab, review today's estimated gold or silver rate with source and last-updated time, then calculate value, jewellery cost, selling proceeds, or profit/loss. Planning estimates — not a live broker quote.

  1. Select your country (geo-detect may suggest one on first visit).
  2. Review the headline 24K rate, last updated time, and data source; tap Refresh to pull the latest available rate.
  3. Choose a tab: Gold Price, Jewellery, Selling, Profit/Loss, Silver, or Compare.
  4. Enter weight, unit (tola, gram, 10 gram, ounce), and purity (karat) as shown for that mode.
  5. Add making charges, stones, wastage, discount, tax, commission, or purchase price when the tab requires them.
  6. Press Calculate and review the breakdown; use Compare to contrast two karats at the same weight.

Rate methodology

When market updates are enabled, rates derive from international USD/oz spot plus FX, converted to local currency per tola or gram. Admin overrides or cached rates apply when live fetch fails. Updates are periodic — not a tick-by-tick Sarafa feed.

Jewellery formula

  • Gold value = weight × purity factor × fine rate
  • Final jewellery price = gold value (+ wastage) + making + stones − discount + tax
  • 22K uses 22/24 of the 24K fine rate; other karats use karat/24

Common mistakes

  • Treating cached or delayed rates as an exact shop counter quote.
  • Mixing tola and gram without converting (1 tola ≈ 11.664 g in many markets).
  • Forgetting making charges, wastage, or commission when comparing buy vs sell.

Limitations

Market-derived estimates for planning only — not investment, tax, or Zakat advice. Local premiums, making charges, and shop spreads can differ. Rate source and timestamp are shown so you can judge freshness.

FAQ

What is today's gold price / gold rate?

This page shows today's estimated gold rate for your selected country in local currency (such as PKR), with last updated time and data source. Refresh to pull the latest available market-derived or Admin rate — it is not a guarantee of your local shop quote.

What is gold rate today on this calculator?

The headline rate is typically the fine 24K price per the country's rate unit (often per tola where that is the market convention). Choose purity (24K, 22K, etc.) to see the matching gold rate for that karat. Units include tola, gram, and 10 gram.

Is this a gold price calculator?

Yes. Beyond viewing gold price and gold rate today, you can calculate gold value by weight and purity, jewellery cost with making charges, selling net amount, profit/loss, and silver value — all on this same page.

Where do gold rates come from?

When market updates are enabled, rates are derived from international LBMA-style USD/oz spot (via Minted Metal) and FX (open.er-api.com), then converted to your selected currency per tola/gram. If that fails, the calculator uses Admin-managed or cached rates. Updates are periodic with caching — not a real-time tick feed.

How many grams are in 1 tola?

Many markets (including common Sarafa practice) use 1 tola = 11.664 grams (sometimes quoted as 11.6638 g).

How is 22K priced from 24K?

22K factor is 22/24 ≈ 91.67% of the 24K fine rate. Other karats use karat/24.

What is the jewellery cost breakdown?

Final price = gold value (+ wastage) + making charges + stone charges − discount + tax. Each line is shown so you can see how the total is built.

What modes does the calculator offer?

Tabs include Gold Price, Jewellery (making charges and stones), Selling (commission), Profit/Loss vs purchase price, Silver, and Compare (two karats side by side).

Can I use this for Zakat on gold?

You can estimate gold value here for planning, but the dedicated Zakat Calculator includes nisab, liabilities, and 2.5% payable with Hanafi-oriented defaults for Pakistan.

Why might my local shop quote differ?

Sarafa and retail spreads, making charges, regional premiums, and timing differ from market-derived estimates. This tool shows source and last-updated time — treat numbers as planning estimates, not a binding shop price.
