How is the tip calculated?
Tip amount = bill amount × tip percentage ÷ 100. Total bill = bill + tip. Per-person amounts divide tip and total by the number of people.
How do I calculate a 15% tip?
Enter your bill amount, tap the 15% preset (or type 15), enter number of people, and press Calculate. Example: $80 bill → $12 tip, $92 total.
How do I split a bill?
Enter the full bill amount, tip percentage, and number of people. The calculator shows total per person and tip per person — no separate split-bill tool needed.
Can I enter a custom tip percentage?
Yes. Use a preset (10%, 15%, 18%, 20%, 25%) or type any non-negative percentage, including decimals like 18.5%.
Can I calculate tip for multiple people?
Yes. Set number of people to 2, 3, 4, or any whole number ≥ 1. Results include amount per person and tip per person.
Does the calculator convert currencies?
No. The currency selector changes display symbols only (USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, INR, PKR). It does not fetch exchange rates or convert amounts between currencies.
How is the per-person amount calculated?
Total per person = (bill + tip) ÷ people. Tip per person = tip amount ÷ people.
Can I use 0% tip?
Yes. A 0% tip returns zero tip with the total equal to the bill — useful for splitting a bill with no gratuity.
How does rounding work?
Math uses full precision internally. Displayed currency amounts are rounded to two decimal places for readability.
