Conversion formulas

  • Weight: lb → kg = value × 0.45359237; kg → lb = value ÷ 0.45359237
  • Length: inches ↔ cm uses 2.54; miles ↔ km uses 1.609344
  • Temperature: °F = (°C × 9/5) + 32; °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9
  • SI storage: GB = MB ÷ 1000; MB = GB × 1000
  • IEC storage: GiB = MiB ÷ 1024; MiB = GiB × 1024

Common mistakes

  • Treating 1024 MB as 1 GB (that mixes IEC thinking with SI labels — use the IEC category for MiB/GiB).

What is the difference between MB and MiB?

MB and GB use decimal SI units (1 GB = 1000 MB). MiB and GiB use binary IEC units (1 GiB = 1024 MiB). This converter keeps SI and IEC in separate categories so they are never mixed.

How do I convert minutes to hours?

Select Time, enter minutes, and set To to Hours. 60 minutes = 1 hour, so 90 minutes = 1.5 hours. A secondary line may also show a mixed duration such as 1 hour 30 minutes.
